First Tactical women’s pants alternative

FIRST TACTICAL WOMEN’S PANTS ALTERNATIVE

Too tight here. Too loose there. Let’s talk proportions.

Somehow the same pair of pants has managed both. An impressive achievement, if it were not happening to you.

I’m Miranda. As a volunteer firefighter and a mom, I want gear that lets me get on with the day. I also want a fit conversation that goes beyond “try the next size.”

“tight in the waist and very baggy in the thighs”

A woman discussing issued First Tactical pants in an EMS community, 2023. Individual experience; name omitted. Read the original account.

That is a different problem from needing more room everywhere. First Tactical offers women-specific fits and stretch features, and plenty of women like them. If your pair is not working for you, the useful question is where the proportions disagree with yours.

Give the waist and hips equal time.

When you compare MGT, look at your waist and hips together. Our pants use a mid-rise fit, an elastic back waist and room through the hips, seat and thighs. That may be worth exploring, but more room is not automatically better for every woman.

Measure first. Then use the Fit Finder to get an MGT starting size from what you wear comfortably now. Review the guidance before ordering, especially if one measurement points to a different size.

Same MGT fit. Pockets for your day.

A few useful answers

Is MGT automatically roomier than First Tactical?

It depends on the pair you have now. Let’s compare your waist and hips with the MGT guide and work from there.

Can I get a 35-inch inseam from MGT?

No. MGT’s current options are 31 inches and 33 inches. Check your needed length before choosing.

Where do I start if waist and hip sizes differ?

Use the Fit Finder guidance and ask MGT for personal fit help rather than guessing.
